Preserve Midtown is a grassroots, non-partisan, volunteer community based organization founded in May, 2007. Our members are bus riders and people interested in creating a sustainable alternative and a strong business environment in Tulsa, so that Tulsa can become a dynamic, modern city that lives up to its full potential. Code for Tulsa is a group of citizens who want to use technology to make life better in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We’re organized as a Code for America Brigade, joining other groups around the country doing similar work. In May 2013, the Tulsa City Council and Mayor of Tulsa adopted the Open and Accessible Data Resolution, with direction to provide more data online and work toward a higher level of transparency. The U.S. Green Building Council Oklahoma Chapter is a nonprofit membership organization whose vision is a sustainable environment within a generation. Its membership includes corporations, builders, universities, government agencies, and other nonprofit organizations. USGBC was founded in 1993 and has grown to over 13,000 member companies and organizations that advocate sustainable design practices with the utilization of a comprehensive family of LEED green building rating systems. The Oklahoma Eagle is a revered 95 year old publication with a stout, unapologetic record as a robust player in Tulsa politics, justice issues, the civil rights movement, the history and culture of African Americans, growth and change, community development and music and the arts. The Phoenix Development Council is unlike any other neighborhood association. They were created to work with the city in bringing the 36th St. N. Corridor Small Area Plan to fruition. The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce (GCC), Greenwood Community Development Corporation (GCDC), and Greenwood Business Resource Center (GBRC)’s overall mission is to create economic opportunities… businesses and jobs, which in turn will assist in stimulating the development of the north Tulsa community awareness and involvement, promote civic pride and spirit through cultural, educational and recreational activities; and provide opportunities for entrepreneurship initatives, small business technical assistance, business expansion, and the creation of jobs and training that offer upward mobility for the community.
